https://ejournal.edukhatulistiwa.com/index.php/JIPER/article/view/294

This study aims to develop learning media in the form of history-based animated videos on Archimedes' principle and to test its feasibility and effectiveness in supporting the physics learning process. The research method used is the 4D development model, which includes the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The subjects in this study involved 37 students from Labschool Untad Palu High School. The research instruments included validation sheets for media experts, subject matter experts, and practitioner experts, as well as student response questionnaires. The validation results showed that the developed learning media received a rating of Very Good from all experts, indicating that the media was suitable for use in learning. Trials with students on a limited and large scale also showed positive responses with a rating of Good. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the history-based animated video media on Archimedes' Principle material is deemed feasible and can be used as a supporting tool in physics learning activities.
Nur Fahra Agustam, Muh Syarif S Abd Syukur, Unggul Wahyono, Delthawati Isti Ratnaningtyas

https://ejournal.edukhatulistiwa.com/index.php/JIPER/article/view/295

This study aims to develop Higher Order Thinking Skills -based Student Worksheets using the Problem Based Learning model to improve student learning outcomes. This research is a Research and Development study and uses the 4D (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) development model. The developed student worksheets has been validated by media experts with a score of 89.50% and by subject matter experts, showing content feasibility of 83.45% and linguistic aspects of 91.42%. The results of the pilot test through a student response questionnaire obtained an average score of 82%, which indicates a very practical category. Meanwhile, student learning outcomes showed an average score of 57.96% with a moderate category. Thus, it can be concluded that the HOTS-based student worksheets using the Problem Based Learning model has been tested and is feasible for use as teaching material in physics practicums.
Sarina Sarina, Marungkil Pasaribu, Nurjannah Nurjannah, Ielda Paramita, Nurul kami Sani

https://ejournal.edukhatulistiwa.com/index.php/JIPER/article/view/304

This study aims to analyze the differences in physics learning outcomes between students who are taught with game-based learning, experimental, and cooperative learning methods. The research method used a pseudo-experimental design with three treatment groups. Participants consisted of 33 students in class X who were given 3 learning method treatments: game-based learning, experimentation, and cooperative learning. Data was collected through learning outcome tests and interviews with teachers and students. Statistical analysis using one-way ANOVA showed a very significant difference between the three methods (F=53.03; p=3.06E-16). The highest average learning outcomes were achieved by the game-based learning group (81.82), followed by experimentation (87.58), and cooperative learning (93.3). The results of the interviews revealed that the experimental method was preferred by students because it was interactive and contextual. This study concludes that the selection of innovative learning methods in accordance with the characteristics of the material can significantly improve students' physics learning outcomes.
Naomi Setyaningsih, Silmi Kapah, Rizka Apriliyani, Nathan Alexander Silalahi, Dede Ardila, Yourie Fadilah, Fajar Maulana, Anggi Elisabeth, Indri Sari Utami

https://ejournal.edukhatulistiwa.com/index.php/JIPER/article/view/299

This study aims to determine the effect of the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) approach on the collaboration skills of junior high school students. The study employed a true experimental method with a Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The research population consisted of all 148 seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 18 Palu in the 2023/2024 academic year. Sampling was conducted using a purposive sampling technique based on specific considerations from the physics teachers at SMP Negeri 18 Palu. Class VII A was designated as the experimental group that implemented the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) approach within the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model, while Class VII B served as the control group using the scientific approach in PjBL. The instrument used was a collaboration skills observation sheet consisting of four assessment indicators. The results of data analysis using the Independent Sample t-test revealed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups, with a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.004 < 0.05. These findings indicate that the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) approach has a significant effect on students’ collaboration skills. Therefore, the implementation of STEAM-based learning is an effective alternative for enhancing students’ collaboration skills in science learning at the junior high school level. Furthermore, these findings confirm that the STEAM approach is not only relevant for integrating multiple disciplines but also contributes significantly to the development of 21st-century collaboration skills, thereby strengthening and extending previous studies that primarily focused on improving students’ learning outcomes and creativity.
Shafira Shafira, Sahrul Saehana, Ielda Paramitha

https://ejournal.edukhatulistiwa.com/index.php/JIPER/article/view/321

Physics learning is often considered difficult by students because it requires the ability to understand concepts verbally, mathematically, graphically, and diagrammatically. One of the subjects that demands these skills is Newton's Law. This study aims to analyze the level of students' multi-representation al skills in understanding Newton's Law in high schools in Palu City. This study uses a descriptive method with a quantitative and qualitative approach. Data were collected through a multi-representation skill essay test consisting of 5 questions and interviews. The research subjects were 12th grade students at four public high schools in Palu City (SMAN 1, SMAN 3, SMAN 4, and SMAN 7). The results showed that, in general, students' multi-representation skills were in the moderate category. A small number of students were in the high category, able to use various forms of representation consistently, while others were still in the low category, especially in graphical and mathematical representations. The conclusion of this study is that the multi-representation skills of high school students in Palu City regarding Newton's Laws are not yet uniform, with a tendency to be in the moderate category. This indicates the need for learning strategies that emphasize the use of multi-representation to strengthen the understanding of physics concepts.
Sri Wulandari Lole, Supriyatman Supriyatman, Syamsu Syamsu, Ketut Alit Adi Untara
