This condition is also experienced by the community in Warmon Kokoda Village, Sorong Regency, who have long depended on well water sources with high salinity levels. This community service activity aimed to introduce and train residents in the use of single-roof solar desalination technology with a solar-powered cooling fan as an energy-efficient and environmentally friendly solution for brackish water purification. The approach used was Participatory Action Research (PAR), in which the community was actively involved in socialization, learning, and hands-on practice in the manufacture and operation of the device. The results of this activity showed an increase in community knowledge about the working principles and benefits of solar desalination technology, as evidenced by the community's ability to conduct trials on the device. Technical tests showed that the device was able to reduce the salinity of brackish water from 5% to 0%, producing water suitable for consumption according to WHO standards, with good thermal efficiency for the household category. This activity had a significant impact in providing access to safe and potable water for the local community, as well as increasing independence in water resource management.
2025-11-14T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Kristin Seru Matonda, Siti Ani Umkabu, Supriyatna Supriyatna, Yufita Fenetiruma, Yakomina Ronetha Burdam, Salsabila Suega, Fajar Efendi, Febrian Andi Hidayat, Jaharudin Jaharudin, Budi Santoso, Lisa Dewi Ramadanyhttps://ejournal.edukhatulistiwa.com/index.php/samakta/article/view/331Community Empowerment through the Oyster Mushroom Cultivation Program in Kragilan Village2026-02-06T15:33:43+00:00Alaya Rizka Salisa[email protected]Alifa Nurul Mufiroh[email protected]Rahmat Lutfi Guefara[email protected]Wahyu Suhardiyono[email protected]Rina Manasickana[email protected]Nabila Kharitsah[email protected]Anas Muhotib[email protected]Muhammad Irham Zamzami[email protected]Alfikran Gumohung[email protected]Andre Mahendra Heru Kusuma[email protected]Muhamad Anggun Tri Subekti[email protected]Jihan Hanifah[email protected]Ngulya Nafisatun[email protected]Sukin Sukin[email protected]Tri Muryanti[email protected]Fika Mar'atussa'adah[email protected]
The community empowerment program through oyster mushroom cultivation in Kragilan Village was implemented as an effort to improve the skills, independence, and economic welfare of the community based on local potential. However, issues related to packaging quality and the use of digital marketing remain obstacles to improving product competitiveness. The Terasi Cap 2 Udang MSME, located in Paciran District, Lamongan Regency, shows a gap between the theoretical concept of the importance of packaging and digital promotion and the actual conditions in the field, where product packaging is not yet optimal and digital promotional content is still simple. This community service activity aims to optimize packaging quality and strengthen the digital marketing strategy of MSMEs through a participatory assistance approach. The method of implementation consists of three stages, namely preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The preparation stage is carried out through field observations, interviews, and business problem analysis. The implementation stage was carried out through mentoring on product packaging aspects and the development of digital promotional content in the form of product videos. The evaluation stage was carried out by observing changes in packaging quality, packaging process efficiency, and consumer responses to digital promotions carried out through social media. The results of the activities show an increase in the neatness and uniformity of product packaging, an increase in partners' understanding of digital marketing, and increased consumer attention to products. Overall, these mentoring activities have had a positive impact on increasing product competitiveness and supporting the sustainability of MSME businesses in coastal areas.
2026-02-22T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Mutiara Aisyah Nur Rahmah, Mar’atus Tsania, Hanum Salsabila Hassa, Silfiana Silfiana, Naslizah Naslizahhttps://ejournal.edukhatulistiwa.com/index.php/samakta/article/view/292Improving the Effectiveness of the Music Team and Song Leader through Worship Service Coordination Training at HKBP Immanuel Patumbak Church2026-01-08T02:41:38+00:00Ance Juliet Panggabean[email protected]Samsa Lumbangaol[email protected]Thesa Angelica Siahaan[email protected]
This community service activity highlights the importance of synergy between the music team and song leaders (SL) in worship services at HKBP Immanuel Patumbak Church. Music plays a central role not only as a complement to liturgy, but also as a means of expressing faith and uniting the congregation in praise to God. However, there is still a gap between church music theory and practice, where coordination between music ministers is often ineffective and theological understanding of the role of music in worship is still limited. Based on these conditions, this activity aims to empower music ministers and SLs to improve coordination, deepen theological understanding, and strengthen spiritual motivation in ministry. The approach used is participatory and reflective, with methods including lectures, technical training, worship simulations, and joint reflection. The social engineering strategy is carried out through the formation of new patterns of cooperation that are more synergistic and communicative among ministry team members. The activity was held on August 18, 2025, involving 50 participants consisting of musicians, song leaders, and congregants. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in the participants' coordination skills, theological awareness, and enthusiasm for ministry. In addition, a sense of togetherness was created that strengthened the quality of worship and music ministry in the church. In conclusion, this service successfully bridged the gap between church music theory and practice and became an effective empowerment model in building synergy in church music ministry based on spirituality and professionalism.
2026-02-23T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Ance Juliet Panggabean, Samsa Lumbangaol, Thesa Angelica Siahaanhttps://ejournal.edukhatulistiwa.com/index.php/samakta/article/view/327Community Empowerment through an Inclusive Literacy Movement based on Learning Communities in Butta Ejayya Village, Gowa2026-02-12T22:24:43+00:00Nur Riswandy Marsuki[email protected]Memunah Memunah[email protected]Sitti Asnaeni[email protected]St. Haniah[email protected]Nurbaeti Nurbaeti[email protected]Muhsin Muhsin[email protected]
The problem of low literacy rates and the persistence of illiteracy pose serious challenges to community empowerment efforts, particularly in rural areas. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to empower the community through an Inclusive Literacy Movement based on a learning community in Butta Ejayya Village, Gowa Regency. The approach used was participatory and inclusive, involving the community as the main subject in the planning, implementation, and evaluation processes of the activity. The implementation method included identifying the community's literacy needs, establishing a learning community, mentoring reading and writing activities, and strengthening the role of local leaders as literacy drivers. The results of the activity showed increased community participation in literacy activities, growing awareness of the importance of reading and writing skills, and the formation of a learning community as a space for continuous shared learning. This activity also contributed to strengthening the community's social capacity and became the first step in eradicating illiteracy. Thus, the inclusive literacy movement based on a learning community has proven effective as a community empowerment strategy and can be replicated in other areas with similar characteristics.
2026-02-23T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Nur Riswandy Marsuki, Memunah Memunah, Sitti Asnaeni, St. Haniah, Nurbaeti Nurbaeti, Muhsin Muhsinhttps://ejournal.edukhatulistiwa.com/index.php/samakta/article/view/333STEM-Based Fire Disaster Mitigation Training to Foster Safety Awareness Among Early Childhood Education Students2026-02-14T13:29:58+00:00Ina Ana Khoeriah[email protected]Della Apriyani Kusuma Putri[email protected]Lucky Dewanti[email protected]Herman Hadiwijaya[email protected]
Fire disasters constitute one of the most serious threats that can occur within school environments, including at the Early Childhood Education (ECE) level. However, fire disaster mitigation programs specifically designed for young children remain considerably limited, particularly those integrating innovative learning approaches. This gap underscores the necessity for educational interventions aligned with the cognitive and psychomotor developmental stages of early childhood. In response, this community service program aimed to cultivate safety awareness and fundamental fire disaster mitigation skills among ECE students through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)-based training. The implementation method employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach combined with interactive training and mentoring, encompassing the dissemination of fire safety materials, evacuation drills, and hands-on activities involving the construction of simple teaching aids representing firefighting equipment used to extinguish fires. This program was conducted at TKIT AR RAUDLOH, Kuningan Regency, involving 30 students from Groups A and B along with 4 accompanying teachers. The findings demonstrated a significant improvement in students' understanding of fire hazards, their ability to perform basic evacuation procedures, and high levels of enthusiasm in STEM-based activities. In conclusion, STEM-based fire disaster mitigation training serves as an effective educational solution for fostering safety awareness from an early age and can be sustainably implemented within ECE settings.
2026-02-24T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Ina Ana Khoeriah; Della Apriyani Kusuma Putri; Lucky Dewanti, Herman Hadiwijayahttps://ejournal.edukhatulistiwa.com/index.php/samakta/article/view/314Singing Training Through Choir for Students at Bahorok 1 Public High School2026-02-05T13:37:18+00:00Kamaluddin Galingging[email protected]Ronald Heriko Saragih[email protected]Emmi Simangunsong[email protected]Elia Prischilia Tambunan[email protected]
The low level of vocal technique and choral harmony skills among students at Bahorok 1 Public High School made this community service activity urgent. Students had difficulty dividing their voices into soprano, alto, tenor, and bass (SATB), maintaining pitch accuracy, and understanding intervals, resulting in a lack of harmony. This activity aims to improve vocal competence, understanding of harmonization, and build cooperation and confidence among students through choir training. The implementation methods include initial observation, determining voice groups based on vocal characteristics, basic vocal technique training, training for each voice group using the drill method, and gradually combining all voices with guidance and guitar accompaniment. The results of the activity showed an improvement in students' ability to maintain pitch accuracy, understand SATB voice divisions, and produce more harmonious harmonization. In addition, students showed greater enthusiasm and confidence after being able to perform songs together. The impact of this activity not only improved musical skills but also strengthened discipline, concentration, and cooperation among students. Thus, choir training is effective as an effort to strengthen music arts capacity in schools and is recommended to be implemented continuously in extracurricular programs.
2026-02-25T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Kamaluddin Galingging, Ronald Heriko Saragih, Emmi Simangunsong, Elia Prischilia Tambunanhttps://ejournal.edukhatulistiwa.com/index.php/samakta/article/view/337Strengthening the Strategic Thinking Competency of Junior High School Teachers Through Education for Sustainable Development-Based Scenario Training2026-02-23T08:13:55+00:00Suhendar Suhendar[email protected]Syane Triwulandari[email protected]Asriyanik Asriyanik[email protected]
Education faces a major challenge in preparing a generation capable of responding to uncertainties caused by climate change and the sustainability crisis. The Education for Sustainable Development framework emphasizes strategic thinking competence as the ability to design adaptive actions based on systemic analysis and future projections. However, learning practices in schools still tend to present climate change in an informative manner without training students’ anticipatory capacity. This community service program employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach to strengthen junior high school teachers’ strategic thinking competence through ESD-based scenario training. Seventeen teachers in West Java participated in an online training program consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection cycles. The activities included strengthening ESD concepts, scenario development techniques, and contextual climate change module design. Evaluation was conducted through pretest–posttest comparison and rubric-based module assessment. The results showed an increase in the average score from 67 to 84. The teaching modules produced demonstrated teachers’ ability to identify driving forces, formulate key uncertainties, and design multiple logical and contextual future scenarios. The program effectively enhanced teachers’ pedagogical capacity and contributed to the transformation of future-oriented learning practices.
2026-02-25T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Suhendar Suhendar, Syane Triwulandari, Asriyanik Asriyanik
