Author Guidelines

All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Earth, Environment, and Sustainability Education (JEESE) must be written in clear and grammatically correct English. Authors whose first language is not English are strongly encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally edited or proofread prior to submission.

Submitted manuscripts must be original, not previously published, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. The official language of JEESE is English.


General Author Guidelines

1. Manuscript Preparation

1.1 General Format

  • Manuscripts must be written in English
  • Length: 3000–8000 words (including references, tables, and appendices)
  • Font: Times New Roman, 11 pt, single spacing
  • Paper size: A4
  • Margins: 2.54 cm on all sides
  • Maximum length: 17 pages
  • File format: Microsoft Word (.docx)

2. Structure of the Article

2.1 Title

  • Maximum 16 words
  • Font: Times New Roman, align left
  • Should clearly reflect the core content of the article

2.2 Authors and Affiliations

  • Include full name(s) of author(s)
  • Provide institutional affiliation and study program
  • Mark the corresponding author with an asterisk (*)
  • Include email address of the corresponding author

2.3 Abstract

  • Length: 150–250 words, italicized
  • Must include: objectives, methodology, data analysis, and key findings
  • Font: Times New Roman 11 pt, single spacing

2.4 Keywords

  • Minimum three keywords
  • Should represent the essence of the article

3. Main Body Structure

3.1 INTRODUCTION

  • Title in ALL CAPS, bold, 12 pt
  • Includes: background, rationale, literature review, research approach, objectives, and hypotheses (if applicable)

3.2 METHOD

  • Includes: research design, participants/sample, sampling techniques, instruments, procedures, data analysis methods, software used, and ethical considerations
  • Subsections may use decimal numbering (e.g., 2.1, 2.2)

3.3 RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

  • Present findings using tables, figures, graphs, or images
  • Discuss results systematically based on research objectives
  • Connect findings with relevant theories or previous studies
  • All tables and figures must be properly labeled (e.g., Figure 1., Table 1.) and integrated into the text

3.4 CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTIONS

  • Concise but meaningful
  • Summarize key findings
  • Provide implications and/or recommendations

3.5 ACKNOWLEDGMENT (if applicable)

  • Mention funding sources and grant numbers (if any)
  • Acknowledge contributors, institutions, or supporting parties

4. Figures, Tables, and Equations

  • Figures must be high-resolution and clearly readable
  • Font size within figures should be consistent (approx. 11 pt)
  • Tables may use slightly smaller fonts but must remain legible
  • Figures may be arranged side-by-side if needed
  • Equations must be clearly formatted, numbered consistently, and referenced as “equation (1)”

5. References

  • Use APA Style (latest edition)
  • Minimum 20 references per article
  • At least 80% from sources published within the last 5 years
  • Use reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote
  • Font: Times New Roman 11 pt

6. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted via the Online Journal System (OJS):

All submitted manuscripts will undergo similarity screening using plagiarism detection tools such as Turnitin or similar systems.
