History

Equator Science Journal (ESJ) was first published in June 2023. Since its establishment, the journal has been issued regularly three times a year, in February, June, and October.

Equator Science Journal serves as an academic communication platform for researchers, lecturers, teachers, practitioners, and university students to disseminate scholarly works and research findings in the field of science education. The journal prioritizes high-quality contributions related to physics education, chemistry education, biology education, integrated science education, environmental education, curriculum, instruction, teacher education, assessment, and other relevant issues in science teaching and learning.

ESJ is committed to promoting the development of theory, research, and practice in science education at the local, national, and international levels through the publication of empirical studies, review articles, and conceptual papers.

In line with its commitment to continuous quality improvement and adaptation to global academic publishing standards, ESJ revised its manuscript template from here to here. This update was undertaken to enhance formatting quality, improve manuscript clarity, and strengthen author guidance in preparing scholarly articles.

A major addition in the 2026 template is the inclusion of the Declaration of Generative AI Sources section, introduced as a response to the rapid development of artificial intelligence technologies in academic writing and publishing. This policy aims to promote transparency, ethical authorship practices, and responsible use of AI-assisted tools while maintaining the integrity and originality of scientific publications.
