Deposit Policy

Equator Science Journal (ESJ) allows authors to deposit and share all versions of their manuscripts in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal websites, and other academic or non-commercial platforms without embargo, provided that the original source of publication in ESJ is properly acknowledged.

Authors retain the right to archive the following versions of their manuscripts:

1. Submitted Version (Preprint)
The version of the manuscript originally submitted to the journal before the peer review process.

2. Accepted Version (Accepted Manuscript / Postprint)
The version of the manuscript that has been peer-reviewed and accepted for publication, but has not yet been copyedited, typeset, or formatted by the journal.

3. Published Version (Version of Record)
The final published version of the article as it appears on the official ESJ website.

Permitted Deposits and Uses

Authors may deposit and use these versions in the following ways:

  • on personal websites or academic profile platforms
  • on institutional or organizational repositories
  • on subject-specific or disciplinary repositories
  • for sharing with colleagues and students for teaching, training, or research purposes
  • as part of grant applications, progress reports, theses or dissertations, and academic portfolios
  • for scholarly communication and non-commercial dissemination purposes

For the published version, authors are strongly encouraged to include the full citation, the journal name, and the DOI or official article URL linking back to the version of record on the ESJ website.

All articles published in ESJ are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). Any sharing, redistribution, or adaptation of the published work must comply with the terms of this license, including appropriate attribution to the original author(s) and source, and distribution of derivative works under the same license.
